Dr. Joe Vigil (mentor to Dr. Hansen and coach of Alia Gray)
- Roots Running Project is heavily influenced by legendary distance coach Dr. Joe Vigil. Coach Vigil, formerly of Adams State University and the Mammoth Track Club, is the driving force behind our group’s philosophy and was recently awarded the USATF Legendary Coaching Award. We are grateful for the opportunity to work and consult with coach Vigil, who also advises the Big Bear Track Club while personally coaching Brenda Martinez.
